2008
Benefit Concert Overview
Rhythm &
Rawhide, presented by Wells Fargo, is an evening of breathtaking music, humorous poetry
with a cowboy twist, a gourmet dining experience, and
rubbing elbows with the “movers and shakers” in our
community.
Since
inception, Rhythm & Rawhide has raised more than $1,000,000
to benefit children and the arts in Reno through the Reno
Rodeo Foundation and the Reno Philharmonic Association.
Proceeds
from Rhythm & Rawhide have provided one-third of the funding
for construction of the Kids Kampus Activity Center
(benefiting the 1,200+ abused and neglected infants,
children and teenagers who are placed in protective custody
at the Kid’s Kottage each year) and have supported the Reno
Philharmonic’s youth orchestras, MasterClassics series, and
music education programs. Rhythm & Rawhide sponsors take
great pride in donning their white hats and keeping the
western spirit alive in northern Nevada. We hope you will
join us in making our corner of the west a better place for
children and families.
Rhythm &
Rawhide 2008 is sure to have a stampede of cowboys and
cowgirls from all over the west, as this year the Academy of
Western Artist’s Rising Star Award winner Brenn Hill joins
highly acclaimed cowboy poet Rodney Nelson on stage with the
Reno Philharmonic Orchestra under the starry skies of Reno’s
newest premier venue ~ the spectacular Tuscany Ballroom at
the Peppermill Hotel Casino. |
